Turf-Tec Insect Flotation Sampler
This flotation sampler provides an easy method to confirm the presence of potentially damaging insects in turfgrass. Simply insert the sampler through the grass and thatch and then drive the sampler 2˝ to 4˝ into the soil. Fill the sampler with water. Insects will float to the water’s surface where they can be removed or counted to make population level estimates. Removal also allows for easier insect identification. The sampler measures 6˝ diameter x 7˝ high and is made of rustproof galvanized 16-gauge metal.
